Overdue reminders not showing in Calendar app

I am on ios 26.2.1 on an iphone 16. I use the Calendar app daily and as far as I know it has always shown overdue reminders on today's date. In other words, if I didn't complete a reminder due yesterday the UI would show it on today's date so it would always be visible. This is no longer happening! I have to go back to yesterday to see that I have an overdue reminder! This is a terrible choice if this is something that was done purposely. Is there some change I can make to fix this? Is this a bug?
