How to unlock an iPhone XR with a forgotten passcode?

Unfortunately, the only way forward at this point is to erase the phone using a Mac or PC and then set it up again. Hopefully, you have a current backup of the phone, because the reset process will erase all of the data on the phone.

When you have the phone up and running again, it might be a good idea to write down the new Passcode and keep it in a safe place in your desk, etc.......even if you are sure that you will never forget it.
Don't forget to set up automatic backups to iCloud as well, so you can avoid any data loss with future catastrophes.
