Depends on what you mean by "DVD player".

You can't use a DVD set top player like the ones you connect to a TV for instance with a Mac directly.

There are however many "optical drive" options you can use with a Mac to access CDs, and DVDs including Apple's own Super Drive. (no longer made by Apple though).

Also note, DVDs, Blu-Rays and 4K Blu-Rays are different things and would require a different type of optical drive to play each. Also Blu-Rays and 4K blu-Rays require extra software to play on Mac, while DVD's can be played using the included DVD player app.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are these commercial movie DVDs? Personal video DVDs made on a computer? Data DVDs that hold files? Blu-Rays? 4K blu-rays? something else?

In that case, the linked one above should work directly.

Alternatively, I own the following one and it works fine on a current M4 MacBook Air, but does require a dock or adapter since its regular USB and not USB-C like the Asus version linked above which can pug directly into your Mac.
