When using Apple Podcasts app Bluetooth volume resets to Max on iPhone

When I pause a podcast episode and do something on my iPhone then continue the podcast, the volume on my bluetooth speaker usually resets to max. I'm using the Apple Podcasts App. This also often happens when I start a new episode, and when using the Audible App. This started happening when I installed the Liquid Glass iOS. It's annoying. Is there a setting that fixes this, or is it a problem with iOS? Thanks for any help.
