Missing images in Messages on Mac Sonoma

Why is this happening in Messages.

I recently update to Sonoma and my Messages app has been causing me grief ever since. I have uploaded a screenshot of the issue. The issue is the following. When someone sends me a image, jpeg, gif, png etc. they fail to show in the app. No preview. I've tried everything from deleting various cache files, logging out of iCloud and back in, however the issue remains. Even AI doesn't know how to fix this one. I've also checked all permissions, and ran first aid on the ssd just to see if that would help. Nope.

I created a new user profile and funny enough the issue doesn't exist using that profile. I'm just about ready to transfer all documents, downloads and some of the system settings to the new profile but thought I would take one more shot at this by asking for assistance from the Community to see if anyone else has experienced the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
