PhonePe support for iPhone X

The current version of PhonePe requires iOS 16.0 or later, and will run on your iPhone.

However, if you want to make or receive UPI payments using PhonePe, on an iPhone X, you can't. The iPhone X cannot update past iOS 16.

NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India), the outfit that runs the UPI system, only allows UPI payments on iPhones running iOS 17 or later. Those versions of iOS have a new security feature that NPCI requested, to help combat UPI fraud. NPCI apparently values this feature so much that they are willing to abandon all iPhones, like yours, that are too old to update to iOS 17 or later. When they say "jump", all of the app vendors must say "how high?", unless they want to be cut off from the UPI system.

PhonePe presumably has some features other than making and receiving UPI payments, so you might still have access to those features on your iPhone X. But there will be no update to restore UPI functionality on iPhone X.

If you want to make or receive UPI payments on a phone, your only option is to buy a new phone.

Thanks, I had no clue what it was. The Author certainly didn't provide much, if any real information to go on.
