Apple Watch battery draining unusually fast

Hey everyone, I’ve noticed unusual battery drain on my Apple Watch and wanted to check if anyone else has faced this or knows why it might be happening.

Today, my watch battery dropped from 100% to 15% in just about 5 hours. This is much faster than what I normally experience. I have attached a screenshot of the battery usage for reference.

My watch battery health is 83% and I have been using it for almost 2.5 years.

I know this level of drain is not expected at this battery health, so could there be some background activity, settings, or bug causing it? Any suggestions or similar experiences would really help.

Sudden drops might be caused by apps which sync data or which get stuck doing that, for example Mail or messenger services.

To rule out, that such processes are causing the drain, erase the watch and pair it again, setting it up as a new device. You will only lose your created Watch faces and may have to activate the cards in your Wallet app again.

Then check the battery life again.

When my old Apple Watch 5 reached around 80% battery health after almost 3 years of usage, I had to charge the watch twice a day.

But Apple will only service your battery, if it is below 80%, or your battery is defective, which can be found out, if you let the official Apple Support diagnose your watch.
