Apple Watch notifications not working when iPhone is locked

Apple watch notifications not working (when phone is locked)

Hi !

I recently bought a regular Apple Watch Series 11 solely to avoid missing any work-related notifications (Slack, Gmail, Zoom) but I can't figure out why I'm not getting any notifications.

This is what I have tried already

• Unpairing the watch and pairing again.
• Restarting both the watch and my iPhone
• I already checked that it's not on focus mode, theatre mode, etc. - Both my phone and my watch.
• I already checked that the notification settings (mirroring my iPhone settings) are correctly set up.

For context

• My iPhone is on my desk, next to me, always locked. I also use a Mac, which is typically on and unlocked - but I still want to receive notifications on my Apple Watch - or at least for them to go into the notification centre where I can get a summary of what I've missed, on my watch. (AFAIK this is possible?)
• I get the notifications on my phone's locked screen just fine, but these won't show at all in my watch.
• I have tattoos, so I don't use a passcode. Wrist detection is on, though.

I honestly don't know what else I can try
