Apple TV and the F1 races that Apple will provide.

My question regards Apple TV being the exclusive broadcast partner for the F1 races. I realize I will have to subscribe for the service, $12.99 per month. But, I have a question/ concern, will I be able to record those races? Many of those races will be aired at 4AM or 5AM my Pacific time zone. How do I record those races so I an view them at a much more desirable time? Is there a function or feature to do so on Apple TV?

When I view Apple TV's F1 promotion, I see no info on recording those F1 races, or recording in general with Apple TV. Can recording be done with Apple TV? Would appreciate any help and assistance. Thank you.

I'm not sure if you're missing the point, so apologies if I've misunderstood your reply here.

You will be able to watch the races from the start at any time after they have started - that's what "on-demand" means. If the race is at 0300 your local time and you don't get up until 0700 then you'll be able to watch the race from the start. So you don't need to record it. It's no different from going on Netflix or whatever and watching an episode of Breaking Bad Season 1; it was first broadcast many years ago but you can still watch it.

Hi muguy,

Thank you for your reply. Actually surprised that is the case. I don't see many people watching F1 races when most are presented in the very early morning. Many races in foreign countries that are live events are shown here in the Pacific time zone @ 4:00 5:00 AM. How many are going to participate with that? Yes, Eastern time zone better, 7:00 AM.. But again, how many are going to watch at that time? I guess when you average out time zones you're seeing 5:30 AM the time the event takes place.

Again, sort of surprised Apple would be the sole provider for F1 racing and not thinking about the time factor in when the events are going to be broadcast? I would appreciate any opinions about the situation. Certainly appreciate your help, muguy. Thank you.

Hello Zurarczurx,

Thank you for your reply. No apologies needed. I just got it wrong! Being I had NEVER used on-demand I didn't know what it meant, my bad! My lack of current tech is showing I guess.

So, maybe you could help and explain, once I click on my Apple TV app in my dock, and evidently I have to subscribe to the Apple TV service @$12.99 to go any further, just how do I watch "on-demand"? Are there instructions for a very novice like me in how to use that function? Just how would I find those instructions? On the Apple TV app, or else where?

I notice when I access the Apple TV app I see no listings for sports? Just various movies and programs, but no sports. Do I have to subscribe to see all the programing and therefore sporting events after I subscribe? I have NEVER used the Apple TV function before on my iMac Retina, Monterey 12.6. Any suggestions as to how I can get started in viewing the F1 races when the get started in March 6 once I subscribe? Certainly appreciate your help and assistance and hopefully patience, Zurarczurx.
