logic pro sample library question.

Go to the Logic Pro menu, to Sound Library. In the top left of that window, click the Manage Library button. There you can load the legacy sounds. Why the update removes them, I don't know, what a ridiculous thing to do to us.

If you have a back up of LP11, (I had to grab mine from Time Machine), you can grab them from there. Then, drag and drop into the Loops Library in LP12. I found no other way to do it. It took me a whole day to do this. I scrolled and compared what I had in the old folder to what I had in the Library, then dragged & dropped the missing files as I went along. I added 6,375 loops.

Note that apparently, any .loopdata files should already be in your Loop Library but are now .caf files. I'm assuming that .loopdata files, along with .ubs files are deprecated but I have NOT confirmed this nor tested it, only due to that I've found those files have been replaced in the new .bundle file as .caf,and both file extensions are missing everywhere in the LP12 file structure.

Here's what I did:

1. Created a folder in the Applications folder and put LP12 in there, then restored the LP11 from TM by right-clicking.
2. Right-clicked on the LP11 app and copied over the Package Contents/Resouces/AppleLoopsIndex folder to my desktop. (It's not that big).
3. Backed up the LP11 to an ext HD, and put the LP12 app back where it belongs.
4. Indexed the folder and then did a search for ".caf" in the folder.
5. Then, just scrolled through and added to the Library by dragging and dropping.

I tried to do a workaround and simply drop the missing files into the ~/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops/SingleFiles folder. It didn't work. However, one thing that I didn't try is to add them to that folder and then restart LP12. You might try that and see what happens.

Basically, you have to move/copy your Channel Settings folder from Library/Application Support/Logic folder over into the Logic Pro Library.bundle package contents folder, then start up LP12.

Here is the location of the Bosendorfer Grand Hall, the other Bosendorfer files are under the 02 Acoustic Pianos folder.
