Unable to use Apple Bluetooth keyboard with Sony Bravia tv

My father has an Apple battery powered short keyboard. Due to recent shoulder surgery he has limited mobility. He has a Sony Bravia tv and use this keyboard with it. Says until recently could type on it now you only get from j over and typing that area gives you numbers. Already hooked up to a Mac mini and from what I can tell is set back to default how ever same issue occurs. Now the other weird thing is we did try a newer keyboard with Touch ID and lighting charging and it works fine no issues. Trying to figure out a possible nuclear reset or something along those lines. To get this to work correctly.
