Black banner on MacBook Air when cursor touches text/photos

Hi on macbook air using tahoe 26.2 and just lately getting a black banner on the bottom of screen when my curser touches any text or photo with options (sorry don't know of any technical name for that) see attached screenshot the item I'm asking about is in the bottom left hand corner. Does anyone know what this is and how I can get rid of it.
