Contacts on Lap Top Not Saving note edits or new notes .....

When I add a note to a contact, the information does not save. If I try to make a change to an existing note in a contact - the note reverts back to the old information and does not save the change. Am I the only one with this issue?

I am NOT syncing with iCloud. I use a MacBook Pro 13 inch M1 2020 with 8gb memory running macOS Sonoma 14.2.1.

I do not sync this with my iPhone either because the sync process has been broken for years and creates multiple instances of calendar dates and messes up my calendar and also messes up my contacts.

I miss the days years ago when and Apple product just worked as expected with no issues... now, can't even get an issue fixed.
