Is this Apple Pay/ID unverified usage text a scam?

Am assuming this is a scam, but would appreciated confirmation. Received text 2/5/26:

Unverified Apple Pay Usage

We have noticed some unusual activity in your Apple ID (Case ID: ***) account and are notifying you to ensure the security of your information.

Activity Details:

Transaction: $802.99 spent on Alibaba Inc.

Date/Time: February 5,2026

6:47 AM (Pacific Standard Time)

Device: iPhone 16 Pro, used in Rollett, Texas

If you recognize this transaction, no action is required.

If you are familiar with this activity, no action is required and the transaction will be completed within 24 hours. Otherwise, please contact Apple Support at +1(833)-*** for assistance.

It’s a scam.

Simply block, report and delete the message.

Here is the exact phrase that most scammers use: "We have noticed some unusual activity".

The messages are scam attempts, presented by criminals. Do not interact with the message or the sender. For information from Apple regarding such bogus messages, please read the information at the link below.

Apple would never contact you about Apple Pay. Apple Pay transactions are anonymous to Apple. Any warning would come from issuing bank, refer to you by name and do the opposite. Banks halt the transaction until you approve it. Scammers give a sense of urgency by claiming the opposite, orders going through unless you stop it now. See the difference?
