Mac no longer receives Android text messages from contacts

Hello, recently I've stopped receiving Android text messages on my Mac. I receive spam android messages, but not from my contacts. I used to receive them, but it stopped a couple of weeks ago. I've searched for a solution, and I have tried all that I can find on message boards. My phone is set up with text forwarding to the device. I am connected to the same Apple ID on both devices, and I have signed out and signed back in on my Mac. Nothing seems to be working, and the issue is making work life harder to stay connected and respond to people quickly. Help...
