Video quality items from retime pop-up men are disabled

I cannot select items from ‘Video quality’ from the retime pop-up menu. See screenshot. I use FCP 11.2 with Macbook M4 pro (Sequoia 15.7.3). What I am doing wrong (if anything). Restarting computer or FCP (with option and command keys down to clean preferences) don't help. Any help will be appreciated.

In the image you posted, the retiming bar is green. That means 100%. At 100%, the video quality options will be greyed out.

Click that green bar itself on the timeline clip. That brings up the retiming context menu. Enter 25% and press Return. The retiming bar will now be orange. Click that orange bar. The retiming context menu should show available video quality options. See attached.

The menu bar options should also work, but please try using the timeline clip-level context menus.

Thank you, but nope. If I select one of the options of the retime pop-up (slow, etc.), retime starts immediately. If I select custom and set the speed to e.g. 50%, the clip video popup menu remains disabled.

I cannot reproduce the issue.

As often is the case, when FCP is somehow misbehaving, deleting preferences may help. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting the application and click Delete Custom Settings. The application will start with default settings and open an "Untitled" library. Adjust the settings, reopen the library you were working, and see how it works now.
