Problems with iPhone update's glass look and emojis

Is anyone else finding the latest iPhone update a real downgrade? This glass look just makes more work to discern what i'm seeing. There's so much obstruction to seeing things. The emojis look like they are designed for kindergarteners. Overall, the look and feel went from sleek Steve Jobs to polyester Walmart Board of Directors. Can I go back? Tell me what I'll miss if I do.

GUI (Graphical User Interface) Complaints of IOS 26.2.1:

A. LiquidGlass:

I don't come across too many disheartening comments of the most-recent iOS release's GUI (iOS 26.2.1, as of the reply). But, upon the release of the original, iO26 version, reports of this on the forums sure were all disheartening, in the least, because of the LiquidGlass issue. Apple sure learned aloud from its customer who provided feedback on the LiquidGlass.

B. Icon Complaints:

I have never had negative opinion with the design of the icons, other than when the the LiquidGlass feature was laying atop them all..

C. Common Troubleshooting of iOS 26 LiquidGlass Appearance:

You’re not alone, when it comes to feedback. See what is recommended at these two threads, when it comes to iOS LiquidGlass after this update:

D. Provide Direct Feedback to Apple On This:

These are just user-to-user forums. You are not speaking with Apple here. So, spread the word to Apple by giving them feedback. Apple may or may not get back to your directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what their customers prefer, and what changes to include in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Feature Request" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on how you don't like the GUI and how you think it should different. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Change is difficult to adapt to because it disrupts our comfort zones, introduces uncertainty, and challenges our sense of identity. It often requires letting go of the familiar, which can feel uncomfortable. Mental ageing plays a role too — it’s really a resistance to change, while physical ageing itself isn’t the issue. And just like in life, some things simply can’t be rolled back — for example, there’s no rolling back of an iOS version once updated.

Still, change is an inevitable part of life, and learning to adapt to it is essential for growth. With time, patience, and an openness to new possibilities, we can overcome the discomfort and find ways to thrive in new circumstances.
