iPhone voicemails require app restart to appear

I have an iPhone 16e with iOS26.2. Voicemails do not appear until I force restart the app. No one at Apple has been able to figure this out. For example, I received a voicemail notification this week at approximately 2:30 PM. When I checked by phone at approximately 3:00 PM the voice message was not visible in the Phone app. When I force restarted the app, the voice message appeared. This began happening after updating to iOS 26. My take is that it's a software problem but Apple wants me to take the phone to an Apple Store (over 20 miles away) and have it physically inspected. If I'm getting a notification about the voice message, then it would seem that Verizon is sending out information but the Phone app is not processing the information adequately. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
