In this latest Creator Studio version of FCP, I'm having issue with alpha videos that I mostly use for transitions. The problem is, the area where it should be transparent, it's showing black. I tried different video clips like Prores 4444 Alpha, Photo JPEG - all having same issues. Anyone has same problem?
I'm using Mac Mini M4 with Tahoe.
Please tell us exactly where you are seeing black.
Change the default background in Final Cut Pro->Settings->Playback by setting the
"Player Background" from black to checkerboard. Are you still seeing black in the areas that ought to be transparent?
PNG files with transparency are working for me. As are ProRes 4444 files.
Photo JPEG cannot do transparency, BTW.
Try rebooting your computer.

I’m not sure if Photo JPEG can actually do transparency or not, but I’ve been using this format for my past projects and it always worked. I download those stock video transitions from Envato Elements. I did restart the FCP but didn’t do a system reboot. I’ll do that and see.

As noted, Photo JPEG does not support transparency.
I am thinking that these files simply do not have transparency.
Perhaps these are offered in more than one format, but only the ProRes 4444 (or HEVC, if available) versions do have transparency.

FCP 12 has alpha channel problem?
