Although Ventura is no longer one of the "most recent" three that get the most support from developers like Adobe and Microsoft, it is still enough to run current versions of Firefox, LibreOffice, and the parts of the Affinity Suite that are "free with registration".

Should you want to replace that 21.5" iMac with a newer machine, you could look into a 24" M4 iMac, or a M4 or M4 Pro Mac mini paired with a keyboard, mouse, and monitor(s) of your choice.
