video become darker after cropping and cutting video on ios 26.2.1

ios version 26.2.1 when i screen recorded video it saved but when i edited it the video become darker i just cut and cropped no exposure stuff like that and i decided to increase exposure and brightness to max it became normal like how it looked before editing sending on messenger the video was brighter and keeping original no exposure and brightness showed it darker and even took so long to post video on messenger and even after restarting did not work

Color profile shifts: iPhones often save screen recordings in HDR (High Dynamic Range). When you crop or trim, the Photos app sometimes re‑encodes the video into SDR (Standard Dynamic Range), which can make it look darker or washed out.

Try this:

Use iMovie or Clips: Import the screen recording into iMovie, crop/trim there, and export. iMovie handles HDR→SDR conversion more consistently.
Disable HDR recording: Go to Settings → Camera → Record Video → toggle off HDR Video. Future screen recordings will save in SDR, avoiding this mismatch.
