Outdoor walk won't end correctly after 26.2.1

Outdoor walk workout shown ending on watch but phone says otherwise, after 26.2.1

Series 9 GPS, 45mm. Never had this before recent updates.

At the end of the walk I end it on the watch. Next time I look at my phone it shows a new partial screen with a digital clock, still running.

When I try to push the end button, or any of the controls, it says I have to end it on my watch (again). The only way to clear this up is to open a new walk on the watch and then end it. That seems to turn it off at that point.

This is since the recent 26.2.1 update.
