iPhone 16 Pro repair under AppleCare taking more than 2 months – is this normal?

I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro from an Apple Authorized Dealer in Sri Lanka, as there is no official Apple Store in the country. The phone is covered under AppleCare warranty.

After about 7 months of use, the phone developed an issue where the display stopped turning on. I took the device to an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and they diagnosed the problem as a motherboard issue. They informed me that the replacement part had to be ordered from abroad.

It has now been over 2 months, and the repair status is still pending with no clear timeline provided.

My question is:

Is it acceptable under AppleCare warranty for a repair to take more than two months?

What options do customers have in situations like this?

2-Months Being Too Old to Wait:

I wouldn't call it "normal", as there isn't any list in regards to how long it would take. But, if it's been 2-months long wait for a "ordered from abroad" item, then I'd dig into it a bit. Question is: "?ust how tough is the item to locate, and be delivered, and then how dong will it take to fix this." You'r iPhone isn't too-old of a device (2 gestations back, as of this reply).

As for your options --follow up with the AASP. Ask Apple who it is, if you have no reference.
