Apple Pencil Pro disconnects from iPad Air after update

Hi All -

After a software update last night (now iPadOS 26.2.1), my Apple Pencil Pro no longer stays connected to my iPad Air (6th gen, 11", wi-fi only). My pencil is fully charged. I have tried turning my Bluetooth off and on, forgetting and reconnecting the pencil, and restarting the iPad, all several times. When I put the pencil on the side of the iPad, it connects and then works for about 7 seconds, then stops working and shows as "Not Connected" in the Bluetooth settings. Similarly, if I leave it on the side of the iPad, it first shows as "Connected" and then, after about 7 seconds, as "Not Connected". Can anyone help?

It worked fine yesterday.

Thanks for the advice! I did contact them, and they sent me to a store for in-person help. You were right, it was the Pencil. Turns out the Pencil had a faulty battery, and it was just a coincidence that it *** out the day after an update. Although I had the Pencil 100% charged when connected to the iPad, as soon as I picked it up, the energy % would crash. Because of the bad battery, they replaced the Pencil for only $30. I'm pretty happy with the result. Thanks again :)
