Apple Podcasts taking over the Lock Screen

while listening podcasts the lock screen is taken over. The time is gone. Yes it will flash the time at the very end for a split second. Why? Also I have a health related widget that is completely gone. Only way to view it is to go directly into the app while listening to podcast.
