What possessed you to go swimming with your iPhone? iPhone is NOT waterproof at all. You have destroyed your phone and Apple will not offer service on an iPhone which is water damaged.

You need to backup your data immediately while you still can, before your phone fails completely. Then plan on buying a new iPhone and learn from this bad mistake. NEVER expose your phone to water. EVER.

I want to support what KB1951 has stated, if your iPhone is covered by AppleCare+, you can get it replaced for $99 plus applicable tax. Otherwise, the cost of an out of warranty Whole Unit Replacement is very close to that of just outright replacing the unit with a model from sales.

Realistically I’d recommend proceeding with service if you have AppleCare+, but without it, I’d recommend getting a new iPhone. That way you can get the 1-year limited warranty and the opportunity to purchase AppleCare.

You can see if you have coverage at check checkcoverage.apple.com

I hope this helped!

Thank you for responding with your concerns, oppong294.

I used to manufacture Lithium Ion batteries and will advise the following:

  1. Power it off and never use it again.
  2. If the internal cells are exposed to water, there will be an explosion. 💥
  3. Take it to a nearby local Apple Retail Store and explain the situation and allow them the opportunity to offer a reasonable outcome for you.

That’s my advice.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉
