iPhone not receiving texts, sender sees 'Delivered

Looking for diagnostic steps: My iphone is 16e with ios 18.6. My wife, our daughter, and I each have iphones. wife sends me a text and sees the word 'delivered' but my phone does not make a sound and the message is not there. Yes I scrolled to look for it. As a test, wife sent another message to me and daughter. Daughter got it but I did not. So seems we've narrowed it to my iphone being the problem. Possible clue is wife sees 'delivered' What exactly does that mean in the message protocol? Note also- my phone does get phone calls normally.

When an iPhone shows "Delivered" for an iMessage but the recipient does not receive it, it generally means the message successfully reached Apple’s servers and was accepted for delivery to the recipient's device. Because the sender sees "Delivered" and your phone acts as if nothing arrived, the issue is likely a synced device, a stuck iMessage session, or a network-level filtering issue on your specific phone, especially after an iOS update.

What are your recommendations on how to diagnose and resolve these issues?
