iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 do not vibrate

my brand new iPhone 17 Pro will not vibrate.

it has been updated to latest IOS and I’ve checked all the suggested settings.

We are having the same issue with my husband‘s brand new iPhone 17

It’s not the case magnet either.

And it is not alerting in the same situations that the phone should be .
It’s quite concerning.
Basically if I have everything turned on and up, it will purr along with the ring.— it’s acts
as if the Sleep Focus is on whenever I shut the ring down or off.

I asked because what you wrote seems in line with wearing Apple Watch. When you are wearing your watch and your iPhone screen is locked, regardless of how you have set up notifications (sound or vibration), the notification will be delivered to your watch, NOT your phone. If your phone is awake, the notification will be delivered to your phone. Notifications will NOT be delivered to both at the same time (except for phone calls).

Yes both phones are up to date.

I have since managed to get them to vibrate OCCASIONALLY and only in specific situations. It is a very quiet subtle movement… not even close to our old 12 and 14’s.

It will make a purr when email arrives (if phone is asleep and locked)but still won’t vibrate when a message arrives.

It’s the strangest phenomenon.
