How can I safely open RAR and 7Z files?

Opening up RAR, 7Z files. I need to access Vet Books on vetbooks.ir but the downloads will not open up. It seems that they are compressed files. There are recommendations about software that could help but I want to be sure it is safe. Any ideas please? I am not very technical so keep as simple as possible!!!! My operating system is Tahoe

7Z files can be opened by simply double clicking them in Finder. When you do it will create a folder with its contents.

For RAR files you can try the Unarchiver on the Mac App Store.

Nothing unsafe about uncompressing files. The unsafe part comes with the contents. unless you trust the source of these files, be cautious about their contents.

What a star! It works. Thanks. Now if you could fix my iPhone mirroring on my MacBook that would be fantastic!

Please start a new thread, and describe your iPhone and Mac configuration, and what’s (not) happening with mirroring.

Why? Adding a new question in an existing thread tends to bury it, given the unrelated topic, and given the existing reply activity here. Folks tend to skip these threads.

Here is how iPhone mirroring is supposed to work, and this article includes a section with the iPhone and Mac system requirements: iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac - Apple Support
