My iPad Air won't enter recovery mode after overheating

Why won't my iPad Air M2 go into recovery mode? I think it overheated because it turned off by itself and was hot. I let it cool down, then charged it for like 30mins. I tried to restart it, nothing. I let it charge longer, 2+ hrs and still nothing when I tried to restart it. I tried recovery mode with my computer, nothing.

Given your description, it is very likely that your iPad has suffered terminal damage through overheating.


You would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.


Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases from another Apple device using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
