eSIM option missing in iPhone cellular data setting

A2220 is not compatible with eSIM. This phone was manufactured for use in China where eSIM was not supported.

This is why you do not see an option to Add eSIM on your phone.

What country do you live in at this time? Have you asked your carrier if they support eSIM? Even if they do, you will not be able to use eSIM on your iPhone 11 Pro Max.

That phone was originally sold in mainland China. It does not have an eSIM at all.

It only accepts physical SIM cards.

There are several possible reasons for this, but to help us choose the right path to follow for an accurate answer.......

Are you saying that the eSIM option always appeared on your phone in the past, but is now not appearing?

Or, are you saying that the Add eSIM option has never appeared on your phone?

Tap Settings > General > About and then tap on Model Number

A 5 character phrase will appear. Post back with that phrase. Examples.....A2220, A2218, A2181

If you see A2220, this version of the iPhone was manufactured for use in mainland China, where eSIM was not supported.

if it was produced for the chinese market then it do not support eSim in any form in which case it would not display it, you can tell by the model number.

With your finger, Tap on MWEV2CH/A and you will see a 5 character number appear....A2220, A2218, A2181
