Wondering whether the changes you made had time to come into effect where they are in use.
Wondering too, whether you are using the newest iOS26 update:
About iOS 26 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 26.3 is thelatest version
and "This update provides important bug fixes and security updates."
(Note: Reminder to back-up iPhone first if you choose to update)

Review and delete apps - Apple Support
Eg: says:
To delete an app from app library:
- "Go to the Home Screen, then swipe left past all your Home Screen pages to get to App Library.
- Tap in the search field. An alphabetised list of all apps on the device appears.
- If you see an app you want to remove, touch and hold the app’s icon until the menu appears.
- Tap Delete App to delete it."
To delete an App from the Home Screen:
- "Touch and hold the app on the Home Screen.
- Tap Remove App, then tap Delete App to delete it".
