Clipped iPhone 16 videos on Mac won't transfer or download

If I take a video (Standard or Slow Motion) with my iphone 16 and download it to my Mac, then clip it at all, It then cannot be airdropped or moved to another file. It cannot even be moved to the desktop.

My phone is ios 26.2 (currently updating to 26.3)

My iMac is ios 26.3

If I clip the video on my phone before downloading it to my Mac, it will see the video and I can click on it to be downloaded but it does not download.

I'm assuming there are some bugs in the most recent software updates and Apple is working on it. At least I hope they are.

iMac 24″, macOS 26.3

I am concerned about your terminology "download it to my Mac"

Normal workflow is to import from phone to Mac Photos, using Mac Photos import process. Maybe your push process corrupts.

Honestly this would be so much easier with iCloud Photos, Full size on Mac, Optimised on iPhone, seamless sync, plus a lot less space used on iphone.

I actually am using the photos app but after downloading the latest version to both devices, it seems to be working, however I'm having to go back to previously downloaded videos, convert them to the original, then airdrop them back to my iphone and re load them onto the computer. Then I can clip them and still airdrop. Problem is, I lose the ability to slide the slow motion bar in the transition. Maybe someone can tell me how to airdrop a slow motion video to my phone without losing the slow motion control.

If you are clipping it with a third party app, try using Photos in the phone or the Mac and use the yellow sliders in Edit.

If that is what you are doing I have never had problems with it.

I plug my phone into my iMac and once Photos sees my phone I click on that and I import from there directly to photos from my iPhone. It typically works seamlessly, but I think this major software update had a glitch which has been corrected so moving forward I’m hoping things will be smooth again.
