I want to add borders (or is frame lines the right word?) to a table in Pages. To do this, I select a few cells and go to Format - Cell, where I see various icons for borders, similar to Excel. For example, I select “Right Border” and the selected cells are given a red selection frame on the right. But it doesn't work—I still can't see any borders there when I deselect the cells.

I can insert a table into Pages v15.1.1 on Tahoe 26.3. I then select two cells (in my case, B2 and B3). Next, with the Cell (Zelle) panel selected, I choose the right grid mark as you have done, set the color to red, and the right-border of these two cells is set to red. Since, I did not change the rule size from the default 0,35 pt, the red line is less distinct than the default grid lines. Increasing the line size to 0,75 pt makes it appear with the same thickness as the default grid lines.
With Pages v14.4 on macOS Sonoma 14.8.4, I get the same result with the same settings as shown above:

ah, I have to make the lines thicker, 0.25 pt grey lines are just not visible! ;-) thank you, I didn't know that you can change the thickness and color, I thought this was meant for the text, not the lines.
