Turn down the Substance disclosure triangle and check to see that the Image parameter is filled with **Grunge_red_D** and not Grunge_red_B (which should be the "height map" image).
If you have Grunge _red_B as the Substance Image, then select the Media tab, find the Grunge_red_D image and drag it into the "drop zone". The text should turn red again.

You put the Grunge_red_D in the Distress section — that one should be Grunge_red_B.
Dial down (Show) the Substance section and put the Grunge_red_D image in that drop zone.
Your screenshot apparently didn't make it...
The only thing that comes to mind is:
For the Texture that is supposed to be Grunge Red, check the Substance property and make sure it is set to Generic or Flat (but it should be Generic).
Hi Everyone!
Not sure why it didn't post the actual question...?
Anyways here's something I haven't run across before...
I was doing a Ripple tutorial for Disintegrating Text. As you can see from the screenshot in the Text Inspector, I have Grunge Red chosen. It shows red in the Inspector. But when you look at the Canvas it is not red. The texture is there but not the color.
I went through all the other Categories and the only other one that seems to have the same problem is the Miscellaneous category. Otherwise everything chosen displays its proper color and texture. I even played with the Lighting and Environments and it didn't help.
Any thoughts or experience as to why this might be happening? Thanks!!
Hey Fox! How's it going? :)
I'm not sure what happened with this post...it was really weird. Anyways, if you had been able to see it you'd have seen it is set to generic. I'm sorry I didn't catch that the picture wasn't there. 🤷🏻♀️ When I change it to Flat the picture becomes only becomes lighter. Any other suggestions, maybe?
Ok - so it took me a minute to find it, but you were right and it originally had Grunge_Red_B. I was excited cuz I thought there's the problem! So, I changed it to Grunge_Red_D.
But it still looks the same?? Did I miss a step?
Drum roll please!! Do you hear the band playing??! 😁
Thank you as always Fox...you seriously are the best! Each and every time I talk to you I learn something not only new, but way deeper than anyone else really goes.
Have a super great weekend!
Thank you!
Happy to help!
