Missing CD music on iPhone after starting Apple Music trial

I am on a trial subscription of Apple Music. I previously loaded music onto my phone from CDs that are not in Apple’s portfolio. None of these favorite and hard to find songs are on the phone anymore. I legally own all of them.

Can I get them back? Or is Apple Music the wrong service for my needs?

you Can sync music again through Apple Music, including your own music. The original sources should be on your Mac or PC and that library syncs with Apple Music to give you access. In a worst case, simply rip the CDs again into Music to sync.
