Only for folders (mainly Desktop and Documents, Photos, iCloud Drive) that you have set to be in iCloud. What you saved locally on your Mac’s disk will not be in iCloud automatically.

You can configure that in System Settings﹥[Apple Account]﹥iCloud﹥…

and System Settings﹥General﹥Storage﹥…

It might be a slightly different path depending on version macOS. Find out which macOS your Mac is using - Apple Support
