As mentioned, we will not know until Apple formally releases those new products.

There was a time when Mac mini's updated all most every year, but that interval has changed to 2 or 3 years.

Displays on the other hand, tend to update at much longer time intervals closer to 5 or 6 years.

Buying now or waiting has always been that way with computers.

If you buy more often, then you have to live with less bragging rights.

If your alway waiting to long, then you get shocked by big macOS changes.

If you need a decent Apple desktop now, go with the M4 or M4 Pro Mac mini.

Then do a 27" or 32" after-market display instead of the expensive Studio Display.

So what should be ideal here to do…
Wait for an update or buy the old one’s?!

Only you can decide what is ideal for you.

If I absolutely needed/wanted a new computer today, though, I'd buy a mini and a nice monitor to go with it. One can always sell it off later if one is lured by the features of the newer Mac when it's released. Or one could trade it in.

I have personally been a fan of LG displays with my Macs. Hundreds less than a Studio Display and in terms of display quality nearly as good.

What it boils down to is what type of work do you do on the computer. Unless you are a photographer, video creator, or some other color critical work, spending tons on a display is a waste of money.

Why spend $1600 dollars on a display if you aren't doing color critical work when a $200-300 4K display will suffice.

Even if you are doing color critical work, there are better options that the Apple Studio display at a lower price.

You will face the exact same performance and battery issues on a PC as it ages. Batteries don’t last forever and advances in software can affect the performance of older hardware. Just a fact of digital life.

But you do what you think is best.

While I don't have any personal experience, I have seen many that found the ASUS Pro Art series of displays to be quite good.

Decide on what screen resolution you want, what sort of display ergonomic adjustments you want, and any other bells and whistles you may desire. Select one from each brand you are considering and then shop for price. If possible, find a sticks and bricks that have the displays you are considering and look at them.

As far as display speakers, all of them are nit much to speak of. If you want decent speakers, buy a a set of powered speakers.
