iPad app text black after iOS 26 update

Upgraded to latest version of iOS 26 on my iPadtoday, and all the description words that define what each app is, are now in black instead of white, which is annoying. Is it possible to change the wording back to white?

Experimenting with Wallpaper has done the trick in terms of the text colour, but my goodness it’s a fiddly process and shows up iOS 26 for the mess it is.

Excellent news.

The iPad's text colouring is effectively controlled by the OS so as to provide contrast to the background wallpaper. As such, it is the selection of wallpaper colour (or background image) that determines the colour of text labels.

If you research colour theory, this being something well understood by successful graphic artists, you will learn about how some colour combinations do and don't work together - or may offer poor contrast or readability.
