Mac repeatedly shows printer as offline


IOS 26.2 and previous. Mac unable to find the printer. Says it's offline. It is not. I even print a page then the next time I print it says offline. Happens repeatedly. Needs to be addressed.

Mac's run macOS, iPhones and iPads run iOS.


If the printer is connected to your local Wi-Fi network, reset the Mac's Printing System.

Thanks for these. This is a Brother printer on a local network. We used it without mishap until a change in some version of the MAC OS created the problem. Another thread here (closed) shows 718 people having the same problem. I've followed the suggestions of restarting, re-installing, turning off and on, taking the Mac offline and on again many times. Those are temporary fixes. The problem always returns.
