your MacBook Pro M4 features direct HDMI.
cables for HDMI should be at least PREMIUM or ULTRA standard, and limited to lengths under ten feet.
with adapters, you can easily create a DisplayPort signal from a Thunderbolt port
cables or adapter/cables for DisplayPort should be limited to ONE meter or less.
you could also use different adapters to create a DVI signal from the HDMI port.
