How to search in Mail for a date range on Mac?

How to search Mac Mail for a date range? For example May 1, 2025-June 30, 2025. If I enter in the search field: 01.05.2025, I get the date search for that one day, i.e. there is a calendar icon with May 1, 2025 next to it (see screenshot below), and I can click on it. How do I get the same calendar icon, for a date range? 01.05.2025-30.06.2025 does not work (see screenshot).

Aha, I think I figured it out. The mails listed in the Message List look to be within that date range. However, there is NO calendar icon appearing under the search field. Is that normal?

Yes, this works as well as using a hyphen. So, "DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY" gives the same result as "DD.MM.YYYY-DD.MM.YYYY." Message List shows messages within that date range, but NO calendar icon appears below the search field.
