iOS 26 (including 26.3) for iPad ruined the Notes app (and a lot of other iPad qualities) - is there a fix?
I just installed (this afternoon) the latest update to iOS 26 for my iPad (26.3), hoping that the bug fixes it promised would bring an end to the numerous issues I’ve been having. My Eighth Generation iPad has 128 MB, so that is not an issue. Mainly, I have been using the Notes app more and more in recent years to write notes on about anything and everything. I also use a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard. While I am annoyed (a lot) by the orange tint that keeps appearing over my text, it actually fails to allow me to type without having to backspace from somewhere; the arrow keys do not work on initial start up, and most annoying/bothersome of all is the disappearance of the text strip that was at the bottom with text suggestions, language selection, and format options. I see it now has a full range of pull-down menus, as if it were an MS Word program, features which I never found to be essential here. (I use Word for iPad when I want ‘fancy’ formatting, but have found Notes to be adequate for most of my word processing requirements.). Weird ‘boxing’ and shading of text and web pages now appear regularly in most other settings, too. SO, the question is, when will Notes return to some form of normal?
