You should see increased battery usage immediately after an update, while your files are being reindexed and any new object detection algorithms are being applied to each photo. This is temporary and last for about 4 days, working in the background.

About Software Updates

Beyond that, you should note which apps are consuming your battery. Is Instagram your top battery consumer?

As far as Battery Charging, you should be charging all night every night. Background activity is being performed overnight and not having it plugged in is just wasting Charging Cycles. Another detriment to the sporadic charging throughout the day is the you are always using Fast Charging and likely using the phone at the same time generating more heat, instead of simply using Optimized Charging overnight where it will fast charge once to 80%, then slow charge to 100% just before you normally take your phone off the charger, after learning your charging habits. Heat and Charge Cycles are the 2 biggest factors when it comes to your Battery Health and premature failure. Additional tips can be found here:

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.
