Properly setting up iPhone 16

We assume that your iPhone 16 is new, and has not yet been powered on. Is that correct?

Define "Properly".

On new devices, all you need to do is turn on the iPhone anf follow the onscreen prompts. There's no real divergence there or much choice beyond personal decisions like using a backup or transferring data from an exisitng device or not transferring data. There is no right or wrong way to set it up.

What exaclty do you mean by "properly"?

Can you explain exactly what you are trying to accomplish?

If its a pre-owned iPhone, it should have been completely erased and returned to the the out of box state which again will guide you through the setup process.
