Netflix App for Iphone 3gs

I have a Iphone 3GS running IOS4. I have installed the netflix app numberous times but can not get the app past the logon screen. Everytime I try to log on with my username and password I get a timeout error. I know the username and password is correct. Is anyone else having this issue and does anyone one know of a fix?
