OS Tahoe + NAS <> MUSIC.APP

Outside of digital subscriptions, it seems my installation OS Tahoe no longer supports external storage of music libraries. Previously, I was able to store my library on my NAS drive, and while sometimes iTunes would choke, it maintained my playlists and such. With a library built these past several years, Apple does not sell a device with internal storage that can accommodate such a library. Consequently, those of us with large libraries MUST continue to rely on external storage. the Apple Music.app used to be ideal for this, including curating lists, album covers, and just all around organization. For whatever reasons I am unable to find my continued library via the music.app, though the Network drive appears fine as do all the files, the media setting within the Music settings appears fine, and other music apps are able to access the same files. Can anyone tell me how to fix this in Tahoe or what the new design standard is?
