iTunes playlist artwork blank for purchased albums

I buy albums on iTunes. I make a playlist for that album. The album cover appears before the songs, but NOT on top. The big playlist square is blank, and edit offers fake covers. I have to make a screenshot and place it manually. It should be placed there by Apple when I buy the album.

Do I not know something, or is this intentional?

Playlist album art change is TERRIBLE This has been noted on both the Music iOS app and the iTunes Mac/Windows app and this is a terrible change. I like to add a full album to a playlist so I have it easily accessible. Before today, anytime I add a playlist, it automatically displays the album cover. Now it is showing a generic blurred image with the artist and album name overlayed, even though only one album and one album cover is present. It looks like this: There is no reason for this and as far as I can see, there is no way to change it without manually selecting an album cover image from my computer hard drive. Even more frustrating is that when I initially add the album to a playlist, it does initially show the proper album art, but if I switch to another playlist and then switch back, it is replaced with this blurred image. There is no excuse for this change. It is a terrible update and it needs to be changed, now. I might fully switch over to Spotify due to this change. Change this update now.

Apple Music no longer shows album artwork on playlists (Cont) As many have pointed out here (Apple Music no longer shows album artwork… - Apple Community) when you create a playlist in Music (1.5.1.24), you no longer have the auto populated, montage image of artwork (in four quadrants). I've tried these suggestions, with no luck: Add to Playlist>New Playlist. Use the left arrow (shown here with a red arrow) to the left of those dots to select blank option. Do not click on the plus sign or add any artwork. Now just type in a playlist title and click create. This instead leaves a generic, gray icon, with music note. I also noticed that if you try and change an existing Playlist (with the left arrow method), that it quickly blinks with the gray musical icon, then reverts to the standard gradient image.

iTunes album artwork incorrect on 2019 MacBook Pro I have a MBP 16-inch 2019, 2.6 GHz 6-Core i7, with Apple iTunes v1.5.6.11. I also have another 2024 MBP M4 running the same version of iTunes. I was listening to music on the 2019 MBP, and all of the album artwork was correct. All I had been doing on this MBP was listening to music so it went to the screen saver. About an hour later I needed to turn it off, so I typed in my password and a small portion of my album artwork were incorrect. For example, one band's artwork had the "words of what the images were"... e.g.: Pink Floyd's Animals cover was a black box with the words, "A Pig Floats Above Battersae Power Station". Same for the rest of my Floyd albums. Some of my Metallica albums randomly defaulted to the "Black" album cover, but not all (some were correct). All of the album artwork on my 2024 MBP is fine. I tried getting album artwork but that did nothing. I then tried signing out, closing the program and deleting the following cache: "com.apple.iTunes" and "com.apple.Music", restarting, and signing back in, but nothing changed. I've done a search for this, and I've seen a few items related to iPhone artwork, but those solutions are related to the iPhone.
