You should only turn on Reminders, Mail, Contacts, etc on accounts where you actually keep them, and for seamless syncing to Watch that means iCloud. Duplicate accounts can cause duplicated data too.

In my case I use Outlook and Gmail for email, and iCloud for everything else, and the account switches reflect that exactly.

Well, as it turns out right before I was having the problems with the reminders, I went into iCloud and I chose to sync my text messages or whatever that feature is, but I toggled the button to "on" to put my messages in the cloud, and then since my storage is full, I was seeing a message at the top my text app that syncing has been paused, so I went to the Apple Store and explained the problem, and I actually went there to talk to them about iCloud in general and the person was telling me different things I could do so one of the things she did was she shut off the "save messages in iCloud feature" and it seems when she did that, the reminder issue repaired itself so now my phone and Apple Watch are syncing the Reminders, don't know if that's really what the problem was but anyway it's working thanks for all the help everyone.

I don't think so. Everything else seems to work fine. It's a mystery. Maybe it's a hidden option that I accidentally activated. Thank you for replying.

Settings, Apps, Reminders, the only account to have Reminders turned on should be iCloud.

iPhone, Settings, [tap your name], iCloud, see all, Reminders sync should be on.
