iPhone 16+ auto-unmute/volume on charge or orientation?

I have an iPhone 16+ running iOS 26.3

First question:

I use the mute button (top button on left side) when I go to

bed and sometimes I forget to take it off mute when I get up.

I've missed important phone calls this way.

I'd like to have it auto-unmute when I take it off charge.

Right now when I press the button to unmute the phone it is at a low volume

and I have to ramp it up with several presses of the volume-up button.

Can I get it to unmute at the same volume as it was at when I muted it?

Second question, related to the first...

I have a charging pad on my bedside table - I lay the phone down on it and it goes into charge mode.

Could the exiting-the-charge-mode or the horizontal to vertical position change trigger the unmute?

...and at a hearable volume...

Thanks in advance

It would have to be done slightly differently. This is because iOS does not allow “Charger Disconnected” Actions at a certain time. What you can do is something like, “When I unplug the phone in the morning, it unmutes and sets volume but only if it’s after 7AM.” If this is acceptable then try the following:

Open Shortcuts ➡️ Tap Automation ➡️ Tap + (top right) ➡️ Under Personal Automation ➡️ Tap Charger ➡️ Select Is Disconnected ➡️ Turn Run Immediately ON ➡️ Tap Next ➡️ Tap Add Action ➡️ Search If ➡️ Set If to Current Date Is After 7:00 AM ➡️ Tap Inside IF ➡️ Tap Add Action ➡️ Search Set Silent Mode ➡️ Select Set Silent Mode and turn it OFF ➡️ Tap Add Action ➡️ Search Volume ➡️ Set Volume to 80% ➡️ Leave Otherwise empty ➡️ Tap Next ➡️ Turn Ask Before Running OFF ➡️ Tap Done

Hope this helps.

You should be able to use Shortcuts to accomplish what you are looking for as follows:

Open Shortcuts ➡️ Tap Automation ➡️ Tap + (top right) ➡️ Under Personal Automation ➡️ Tap Charger ➡️ Select Is Disconnected ➡️ Run Immediately ➡️ Tap on Next ➡️ Tap on Create New Shortcut ➡️ Search for Set Silent Mode ➡️ Select Set Silent Mode and Turn it OFF ➡️ Search for Volume ➡️ Set Volume to 80% or to the loudness that you prefer.

The above shortcut will unmute the iPhone once you remove it from the charger and set the desired volume.
